Daylight Cast

It's rare enough that a performer can create and sustain an original character who grows into a popular icon; but with Heavyweight Boxing Champion "Rocky Balboa" and American superhero "John Rambo," SYLVESTER STALLONE (Kit Latura) has accomplished the unique feat of establishing two in the popular imagination--the five Rocky films and three Rambo action epics respectively coming to symbolize against-all-odds underdog success and take-no-prisoners forcefulness.

Now, on the 20th anniversary of the release of Rocky (which was named Best Picture in 1976 and for which Stallone was nominated for Best Screenplay), "Sly" brings Kit Latura to the screen in Daylight. Latura is the lone hero thrust by circumstances into a harrowing, life-threatening situation, and responds with heroic determination and heart-stopping action sequences--precisely what Stallone's legions of fans have come to love and expect.

Perhaps the top action-adventure star today, Stallone has not limited himself to performing over the years. After starring in and writing the screenplay for Rocky, he made his directorial debut on Paradise Alley. He went on to write, direct and star in Rocky II, III & IV; and write and star in Rocky V. He also co-wrote all three of his Rambo efforts (First Blood, Rambo: First Blood, Part II and Rambo III), as well as the union drama F.I.S.T. He co-wrote, directed and produced Staying Alive, the sequel to Saturday Night Fever which starred John Travolta.

But it's as an action-adventure star that Stallone stands at the pinnacle. In addition to the roles he penned, Stallone has distinguished himself over the years as the tough cop in Cobra, the cryogenically-frozen-then-revived cop in Demolition Man (opposite Wesley Snipes and Sandra Bullock), the hardy mountaineer in Cliffhanger (one of the top grossing films of 1993), the explosives expert in The Specialist (co-starring Sharon Stone) and the futuristic comic book action hero Judge Dredd.

Stallone most recently starred in Assassins, a contemporary action-thriller co-starring Antonio Banderas and Julianne Moore and directed by Richard Donner. He recently completed filming the contemporary thriller Copland.

Moving closer to major stardom with each new project, AMY BRENNEMAN (Madelyne Thompson) stands out as the feisty waitress/playwright in Daylight. To her approachable sensuality, infectuous charm and sharp wit, Daylight added another dimension: Brenneman performed all of her own stunts during the filming!

Brenneman came to Daylight after roles in Casper, the hit live action comedy from Amblin Entertainment and Universal, and romantic comedy Bye Bye Love, which co-starred Paul Reiser and Matthew Modine. She also was seen in Heat, co-starring role with Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino, and most recently in the thriller Fear.
